There is a natural camaraderie that comes with overcoming a challenge together, and being in a new environment with people we already know lets us shake off routine and approach potentially tricky things together in a new way.

Adventure Bay is pleased to offer a discount for teams of 10 or more coming down to join us at our stunning beach a stone’s throw from Plymouth, contact us to find out more.

Getting in a wetsuit is wriggly and silly, being at the beach surrounded by cliffs, swooping birds and a sparkling ocean is  a total antithesis to your normal workday. The excitement of getting into the water and sensation of cold salty water on our skin is impossible to ignore. Sharing all of this with your team gives you a chance to accomplish and experience something together that isn’t about administrative goals or KPIs but will bring better unity to your team when you are back in- if not a suit- something smarter than a wetsuit.

Surfing is a fun sport and we aim to make it as accessible as possible, but the sea is constantly moving and changing, which means no two sessions or no two waves even will be exactly the same, it really helps teach us to be ready to adapt and respond. You may have one plan but a changing wave means you have to think on your feet and be a little more dynamic, this is definitely a transferable attribute!

Similarly, nothing quite matches up to the feeling of jumping off a rocky outcrop into deep blue water! We host all kinds of groups on our coasteering tours. Coasteering is a guided journey around Rame Head jumping off rocks into water, our guides have intimate knowledge of the land and the tides and you’ll all be coached on how to jump safely. It is an adventure making your way into coves only accessible by sea and it’s an adrenaline rush facing your fears and feeling weightless as you jump. The sense of shared accomplishment at overcoming fears together is great for bringing a team together.

We’ve done team building for all ages and many different sectors, from the armed forces, teachers, to working with Reclaim The Sea, a group that helps refugees who have had traumatic water crossings re-engage with and enjoy the ocean.

Our head coach, Dan, has worked in ocean safety for over 15 years and is a qualified teacher, excellent at adapting to group and individual needs so that each person feels taken care of but mindful of creating cohesion and bonding as a group – plus he’s just a pretty friendly and fun guy!

We can be reached by public transport too direct from Plymouth City Centre.
