I started my surfing journey at Adventure Bay when I was 10 and progressed through surf school, while also learning valuable knowledge needed for beach and sea safety.

By age 15, I was eager to become a surf coach and was directed towards the Beach Lifeguard Course.  I was taught important skills and fitness training needed to pass the course and, with months of swim training and some expert teaching thanks to Adventure Bay, I passed the course at age 16. I have now used the qualification to get a job teaching surf lessons at Adventure Bay Surf School which is such an amazing and fulfilling experience.

Surf Coach

It took some training in the pool to get my swim fitness up, but all the rest of my knowledge and skills are thanks to Adventure Bay. I’ve worked in Cornwall and Australia as a beach lifeguard and in Canada as a surf instructor with my qualification. I’ve also helped in off the beach first aid scenarios too!

I retrained as a lifeguard in my late twenties, never too early or too late to decide on a beach lifestyle!
